Heritage: Day One Standing
UPDATE #2: Spot #15, in sight of Mr. H. Potter, broom closet, #4 Privet Drive!
UPDATE #1: We ended up finishing at #29. Not bad -- and right next to a Rick Riordan book, too!
After 9 years, as many drafts, and 30 days spent prepping the "Sword Speaks" promotional campaign, I didn't need much to feel that rush of excitement every writer feels when his or her book finally emerges on the sales charts. Even better were the text messages, emails, and Facebook posts from readers gushing over how much they had enjoyed or were enjoying the book.
But ending the first official sales at the #30 spot in Amazon's top 100 "children's books - sword and sorcery" category? That's pretty spiffy, too.
